My husband pulled this recipe off some recipe forum or message board, jenny the bean??? is what it says at the bottom. Sorry if this is you and I am not giving you appropriate credit. Just email me if this is yours and I will definitely correct it.
3/8 cup vinegar
1 1/2 cup tomato sauce ( 1 15 oz. can)
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoon yellow hot dog mustard
3/4 tablespoon Frank's Hot Sauce ( the chicken wing sauce)
3/4 tablespoon salt
1 dash of cayenne pepper, go easy ( I actually left it out)
3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
6 teaspoons Splenda or 18 drops liquid splenda
Add vinegar and all other ingredients except mustard to a sauce pan and slowly heat. Put mustard in a cup and slowly stir in a couple tablespoons of sauce until well blended. Then add mustard mixture back to sauce in pan. Bring to a boil and lower heat. Let simmer for a few minutes. Let cool then refrigerate
The authors note says this sauce will taste a bit peculiar if you taste it when it is still hot. Something happens when it sits in the fridge.
REVIEW: Not so good. I like sweet sauces and this one is definitely not that. It is actually very vinegary. So I took it to the master taster my husband and it was a failure. I had made it for him to take to work for the women on diets to use on the BBQ Pork he had just made for his work lunch. He refused to take it and actually through it away.
