Chili in the summer??

Who says you can't have chili in the summer? Not me. As I sent grocery shopping today I started craving chili.

This recipe is more about you cooking to your taste so I don't really give a lot of amounts just items that can be added a bit at a time. Really no ones chili tastes alike and mine often has different flavors based on what I have in the pantry and what mood I am in the mood for at the moment.

1 1/2 pounds of ground beef (browned and drained)
2 cans of diced tomatoes ( you can always buy the preseasoned one but today I didn't)
1 medium red onion sliced
1 can dark red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can light red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can black beans (drained and rinsed)
( you can also add garbanzo beans or chick peas) the more variety the better)

These are the spices I use to taste:
Spanish Chili Powder
Cumin
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Red Pepper Flakes
If I am feeling spicy Cayenne
If I am feeling sweet cinnamon
Salt
Pepper
I have heard of people using Chipolte but I haven't tried it

I like to start the chili early let simmer and then taste, add what is needed simmer more taste and then just keep doing this until perfect.

Bread bowls picked up in the bakery section are a great way to serve.

Start practicing for footballs season so you will be on your game at that first tailgate party!!!

Let me know what ingredients you add to your favorite chili.
